Macron initiated the telephone exchange, which covered bilateral relations and volatile regional situations, according to a statement published on NSosyal, Turkey's domestic social media platform, by the Presidency.
Erdogan underscored the critical importance of deepening collaboration between Ankara and Paris, pledging continued momentum toward strengthening partnership between the two nations.
Addressing the war in Ukraine, the Turkish leader highlighted his country's intensive diplomatic push to facilitate a fair and sustainable resolution to the hostilities.
President Erdogan said contacts with both sides to revive the Istanbul process are ongoing, adding that Türkiye stands ready to make every possible effort to help open the door to peace at the earliest opportunity.
Erdogan emphasized that diplomatic channels must be used effectively to achieve lasting peace, adding that Türkiye will continue to increase its support for efforts toward a ceasefire and the subsequent process. He stressed that avoiding steps that could endanger global stability would contribute to peace efforts.
The Turkish leader pressed for strategic utilization of diplomatic mechanisms to secure enduring peace, reaffirming Ankara's commitment to amplifying support for ceasefire initiatives and follow-up procedures. He cautioned that measures threatening worldwide stability could undermine reconciliation endeavors.
The conversation also encompassed rapidly evolving situations across the Caucasus region, the Gaza conflict, and the crisis in Syria.
